Danger may not lurk around every corner, but there are many incidents that could spell disaster in the workplace, at home, or online - flood, fire, data breach, identity theft, and more. How can we protect ourselves against sudden emergencies and keep our personal and professional information secure?

Meeting will be held upstairs at the Murphy Community Centre (200 Richmond Street -- former Basilica Rec Centre) and after the meeting we will continue downstairs to the Alley for some appetizers and an hour or so of bowling. The meeting will be focused on the Spring Education session so please bring ideas for topics and speakers that you think may be of interest.

ARMA PEI Chapter is hosting a half-day education seminar on Thursday, May 8th, from 9am to 12:30pm, at St. Peter's Cathedral Hall in Charlottetown. Big Data and Open Data are two concepts that are inextricably tied to daily life in the early 21st century, from the way we purchase goods to how we access information online. Join us on May 8th as Mark Leggott, University Librarian at UPEI, and Paul Lewis, CTO at Hitachi Data Systems, speak on the massive potential and implications of big and open data.

ARMA PEI 10th Anniversary Celebration -- Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 * 5:30 PM

All Members are invited to the ARMA PEI Chapter 10-year anniversary celebration on Wednesday, November 6th! To mark the occasion, the chapter is treating its members to a guided tour of the new PEI Brewing Company (including samples!), following which we'll head downtown for a three-course meal at the Daniel Brennan Brickhouse. Long-time members Rick Stirling, Ann-Marie McIsaac, and Debbie Gillespie will regale the group with tales and stories from the chapter's past. There will be photographs, and many laughs will be had.

The ARMA PEI chapter wishes to congratulate our President, Ann-Marie McIsaac, on receiving the Canadian Region Member Recognition Award at the June 7th awards banquet of the 2011 ARMA Canada Conference. Ann-Marie was instrumental in creating our chapter in 2003, and has been a leader in its growth and development ever since. She also helped prepare the bid for hosting the 2011 Conference in Charlottetown, and, as Local Host Chapter Chair of the Registration Committee, played a key role in the success of this great event.

The next in our series of twice-yearly workshops is set for October 15, 2009, at the St. Peter's (Anglican) Cathedral Hall, on All Soul's Lane in Charlottetown. The theme of the workshop is: "Disaster Preparedness and Recovery of Your Organization's Records". Your registration fee of $100 ($125 for non-members, $50 for students) includes a full day of workshops, and lunch and refreshment breaks. Location:  Top of the Park (Charlottetown Driving Park & Entertainment Centre).
